🛡️ Editor console
Approve uploads, fix where notes are filed, set up each semester's subjects, and merge daily notes. Your Editor PIN lives in the Sheet's Config tab (EDITOR_PIN).
⚠️ Your Apps Script is out of date
- Get the latest back-end file
backend/Code.gsfrom the project's private repository (the site no longer shows it). - In your Sheet: Extensions → Apps Script, select all, paste, save. Keep your own
ROOT_FOLDER_IDline if you set one. - Click Run → setup once.
- Deploy → Manage deployments → ✏️ → Version: New version → Deploy.
🕓 Waiting for approval
Approving moves the file into its proper folder and makes it visible to everyone. New files are protected from the top-5 cut for 7 days.
🧩 Course Structure (per Semester)
Set up which subjects and courses each semester has. SEM 1–3 start with the current ones; SEM 4 onwards start empty. Click Save Structure when you're done.
🎓 Batches (class codes)
Students join with one of these codes and their uploads get tagged with it. Add a new batch every intake. The admission year lets the app guess which semester a batch is in. Removing a batch never touches its notes.
🔗 Merge daily notes
Editor onlyPick the daily notes from one subject and course, untick any blurry or repeated ones, and combine them into one file for the month.
📣 Post a notice
Tell everyone what's coming up, like which modules are in the internal exam, or ask for missing notes.
Connect the app to a Google Drive
Already have a notes folder? Copy its ID from the address bar. No folder yet? Skip this, and setup makes one called DEPT NOTES ARCHIVE next to your Sheet.
Put it on the ROOT_FOLDER_ID line at the top of backend/Code.gs before you paste the file into Apps Script. Already live? Paste it into box 1 below and click Apply to Everyone to switch the connected script to that folder with no redeploy.
setup() OnceCreate a blank Google Sheet in that test Drive, open Extensions → Apps Script, paste backend/Code.gs, and click Run → setup. This makes a separate CONFIG tab and a new random Editor PIN, shown once in a pop-up. Note it down. Already have a cluttered sheet? Run setup again (or Archive Tools → Repair Sheets) and the config rows move over automatically.
Click Deploy → New Deployment → Web App (Execute as: Me, Access: Anyone) and paste the URL in Box 2 and click Apply to Everyone so every device connects to it!
In the Sheet's CONFIG tab, edit the Value column to add or remove choices any time: SUBJECTS (optionally CS=Computer Science), COURSES, NO_COURSE_SUBJECTS, ECO_COURSES, ECO_ONLY_COURSES. Every device picks the change up on its next sync (within about 45 seconds). Modules 1–6 and months JUL–APR are fixed in the app. Old files stay where they are, and anything outside those lists still shows under “All”.
After pasting the new backend/Code.gs: run setup() once (it adds the missing CONFIG rows), then Deploy → Manage deployments → pencil → New version → Deploy.
◈ Waiting for the first sync…

The back-end code (Code.gs)
It is no longer shown or copied from this page, so it cannot be lifted from the public site. Take it from backend/Code.gs in the project's private repository. It includes setup(), onFormSubmit, onSheetEdit and the doGet / doPost Web App API, and works from an empty Drive, with both the Google Form and this app at once.
If editors are locked out after redeploying (for example the old PIN 2026 is no longer accepted), run setup() again: it creates a new random PIN and shows it once. After 5 wrong PINs in a row, editor actions lock for 15 minutes; clearPinLock() in Apps Script lifts it early.
